What is Pre-Exam / SEE Planner?
It is a tool that can determine how many marks you need to score in the SEE (Semester End Examination) to achieve your desired grade point like 10,9,8 and So on.. in each subject, based on the marks you have already scored in the final CIE marks.
Who can use this Pre-Exam / SEE Planner?
- As of now, students who are studying under the 2018 scheme at Dr. AIT can use this calculator.
- However, we are working to make it available for students of the 2021/2022 scheme in the future.
How to use the SEE Planner :
Step 1 : Enter the number of theory subjects you have in the current semester and click on the ‘Continue’ button.
Step 2 : Now, enter the final CIE marks you have scored in each subject and then click on the ‘Generate Report’ button.
A table will be generated, displaying the exact marks you need to score in each subject to obtain your desired grade as per grading system of Dr.AIT.
Illustrative Example :
Let’s assume that you are currently studying two theory subjects in the current semester, which we will refer to as Subject 1 and Subject 2.
You have scored 25 and 49 marks respectively, in your final CIE.
Now , In Subject 1 if you can score 90 marks or above in your SEE, you will receive a Grade B or 8 Grade Points for that particular subject. Scoring 70 marks or above will earn you a Grade C or 7 grade points, while scoring 50 marks or above will result in a Grade D or 6 grade points. Scoring exactly 40 marks will allow you to pass the subject with an E grade.
Now, when you look at the values for Subject 2, even though scoring just 40 marks will allow you to pass the subject with a Grade C or 7 grade points (this is because you have already scored high marks in the CIE itself),and if you can score 42 marks or above (just 2 marks higher than the passing marks), you can achieve a Grade B or 8 grade points.
Have you noticed the trick here? By scoring only 2 marks higher than the passing marks, you can earn more grade points. This is where EXAM PLANNER comes into picture to help you identify how minor adjustments in marks can have a significant impact on your GPA.
